Dharwad, Aug. 14: “Just as water, air, light and food are important for human survival, so too books can help us inculcate human values. If children make good use of the library, they can grow into good citizens,” said Librarian Sri Srikanth Kumbara. He spoke as the spokesperson for the National Library Day held herein Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra – Dharwad, Neeralkatti. On this occasion, the father of libraries, S. R. Ranganathan, was remembered. Student Praharsha Kumbara spoke about the father of libraries – S.R. Ranganathan. Adamya Deshpande reviewed the book ‘Jago Bharat’. A magazine creation competition was organized especially for children on this day. Prizes were distributed to the winners of the competition on this occasion. The prize distribution was conducted by Sri Sunil Shirali. Harsha Gonda won the ‘Reader of the Year’ award.
ಧಾರವಾಡ, ಆ. 14: “ಮನುಷ್ಯ ಬದುಕಲು ನೀರು, ಗಾಳಿ, ಬೆಳಕು ಮತ್ತು ಆಹಾರ ಹೇಗೆ ಮುಖ್ಯವೋ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾನವೀಯ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ರೂಢಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಅದು ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳಿಂದ ಮಾತ್ರ ಸಾಧ್ಯ. ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯದ ಸದುಪಯೋಗಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಸತ್ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆಯಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯ” ಎಂದು ಗ್ರಂಥಪಾಲಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಶ್ರೀಕಾಂತ ಕುಂಬಾರ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಪಟ್ಟರು. ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನ ವಿದ್ಯಾಕೇಂದ್ರ – ಧಾರವಾಡ, ನೀರಲಕಟ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ ದಿನದ ವಕ್ತಾರರಾಗಿ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ಇದೇ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ ಪಿತಾಮಹರಾದ ಎಸ್. ಆರ್. ರಂಗನಾಥನ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಪ್ರಹರ್ಷ ಕಂಬಾರ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ ಪಿತಾಮಹ- ಎಸ್.ಆರ್. ರಂಗನಾಥನ್ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದನು. ಅದಮ್ಯ ದೇಶಪಾಂಡೆ ‘ಜಾಗೋ ಭಾರತ್’ ಪುಸ್ತಕವನ್ನು ವಿಮರ್ಶಿಸಿದನು. ಈ ದಿನದ ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಮ್ಯಾಗ್ಜಿನ್ ರಚನಾ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಜೇತರಾದ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹುಮಾನವನ್ನು ವಿತರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಬಹುಮಾನ ವಿತರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಶ್ರಿ ಸುನೀಲ್ ಶಿರಾಲಿ ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟರು. ಹರ್ಷ ಗೊಂಡೆ ‘ವರ್ಷದ ಓದುಗ’ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡನು.
